Maine has one of the largest wild life populations in the eastern United States. Some of the largest wild animals include moose, black bears, and also white - tailed dear. The rivers and lakes in Maine have a number of different fish, such as trout, clams,salmon etc..
Maine is known for their lobster. In 1995, Maine caught one hundred eighty million dollers worth of lobster. In 2000, Maine caught ninty million dollers more then in 1995.
Up north, Mainer's do a lot of work in the Timber Industry, while down south, tourism is a large share of the bills.
Maine has beautiful mountains and waters, and also lighthouses. There are altleast 60 lighthouses in the state of Maine, includinh the West Queddy Head Light. It's red and white stripped. The tower was finished in 1808, and in1858 it was replaced with the current tower and keeper's house.
There are many famous people from Maine. Ricky Craven, who was born in 1966, is a famous race car driver. He was born in Newburgh. He began racing when he was only 15 years old.
Steven King, is a well known writer who lives in bangor Maine. He was born in 1947, and went to the University of Maine. He is a tall man, who stands to 6'4''.

One of the high schools in Maine is the Old Town High school. It's located in Old Town on 203 stillwater ave. At O.T.H.S, sports are a big part of the teens lives. Football is Old Town's favorite sport in the fall. There are other sports, such as softball, baseball, swimming, tennis, vollyball, soccer, golf. etc..
Maine became the 23 state, on Mrch 15th, 1820. Miane has a population of over 1,000,000. Maine has 17 million acres of forest lands. Maine's one of America's larget blueberry growing states. Maine makes a veriety of products from toothpicks.
